James Malcolm of virginia

I am searching for information regarding a James Malcom who came to Virginia in 1716 from Liverpool.  He was landed at Yorktown, Virginia and was deported as a Jacobite prisoner. The ship he came over on was the Elizabeth and Anne. My wife and I are just now taking up our Scottish heritage and just recently attended our second festival.  What a day that was, but here was no Haagas to be found. Please help if youi can.  Tom and Joni from Oklahoma

Malcom, James -Walton County, Georgia

Eleanor McCallum - A book entitled "Beginnings" by Jayne Malcom McKenny covers this family  of James and Sally Ganaway Malcom. James was born @1752 in Virginia-maybe Augusta Co, lived in Charlotte Co., Va and then moved to various counties in Georgia. He died in Morgan Co GA in 1829 and many of his family still live today in the area of Morgan and Walton Co., GA

James Malcom

I have, in my family tree, a James Malcom (note spelling) that came from Perth Scotland abt 1620 and immagrated to Virginia.  He died about 5 years later.  I have other information if we think it's the same person.

Capt. James Malcolm of Circa 1750's Augusta Co., Virginia USA

This is a well established Augusta Co., Va., Malcolm family, a branch of which was an early state of Georgia, Malcolm family. If memory serves, it is a Daughters of the American Revolution Patriot line too; he was a captain? I have 1750's Augusta Co., Va., Russell, Christian, Henderson, Campell families, but not Malcolm. My Pvt. James Landreth Malcolm, Confederate musician from Guilford Co., North Carolina, in 1843 wed Elizabeth Page of Rockingham Co., N.C., and died Forsyth Co., N.C., 1895. His mother is believed a Landreth, and father from just over the Virginia line. Jim Miller, Southport, North Carolina.

James Malcom

I  have the same James Malcom in my family tree, but have nothing further back than him, or even how he arrived in Virginia, or he was from Perth, Scotland.    Any other info will be a big help.                 thanks.

James Malcolm of Virginia, Moved to Walton Cty., Georgia

I too stem from this line ... James was my g.g.g. grandfather; his son John, my g.g. grandfather; John's son William David, my g. grandfather, Wm. David's son, John Ganaway, my grandfather, and his son, my father, John Irving.  I don't know of anyone, including Jane, who has researched farther back than James.  He married Sally Ganaway.  If anyone has any earlier documentation, please email me at shirleysheppard@bellsouth.net
