  The Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia was formed on June 19, 1982 and had its genesis in a standing genealogical committee of The Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society (founded in 1878). Membership is close to 1,500 approximately one third of whom live in Nova Scotia, one third in the rest of Canada and one third in the United States.

• GenServ - Family History
  The GenServ - Genealogical GEDCOM Server system has an extensive collection of GEDCOM databases on one computer system. The data in these databases is accessible through commands sent to the system via a regular email message and also via WEB access.

  The Heraldry Society of Scotland was founded in 1977 with the objective of promoting the study of heraldry and encouraging its correct use in Scotland and Overseas. The Society is privileged to number many of Her Majesty's Officers of Arms among its members and a close liaison is maintained with The Court of the Lord Lyon.
